ReeToxA’s name is making waves with their brand-new single, “Redneck Love,” a blistering blend of rock that pays homage to one of the biggest pop culture romances in recent memory: Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. The track is currently available on all streaming platforms, including Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and so much more. What makes this song different from the other tracks is not just its bold subject, but also it captures an intense, energetic feeling paired with raw emotion.

The heart pounding drums accompanied by razor sharp guitars drive the track “Redneck Love” forward right from the get-go. It sets a self-aware and aggressive tone for its listeners. This visceral pleasure continues throughout the song, and when you add McKee’s heartfelt vocals to the mix, it feels like a sharp dive-boast punch. He delivers lyrics that are filled with irony, jealousy, along admiration for the pop megastar he never imagined would get mentioned in his song. Overall, “Redneck love” as a whole is reminiscent of anthems filled with empowerment and motivation that I would recommend adding instantly to any workout playlist or whenever you need an intense buzzling trigger paired with uplifting fuel music.

What truly draws listeners in is the origin story of this song, as genuine as it is surprising. McKee, a lifelong songwriter from Melbourne, sat outside an MCG where Taylor Swift was performing, waiting for a ticket he never planned on getting. Admiration soon shifted into self-reflective jealousy the moment he came across Swift's dating announcement with NFL icon Travis Kelce over TikTok, and the rest became creative fireworks funneled into this very track, a monolith of obsession, humor, and unfiltered truth.   

“Redneck Love” features classic rock sine that goes along with its weighty sound owing to the 90s era which heavily influenced McKee’s childhood growing up around Frankston’s grunge-tinged music scene. What sets the song apart though is ReeToxA’s impressive roster: Simon Moro (ARIA nominated producer), Joe Carra (Grammy nominated engineer), Feat Turcio (Piano), Kit Riley (Bass), James Ryan (Guitar) and Pete Marin on drums make up a powerhouse band who together produce intense layers but maintain polished production untouched by chaos.

This publication keeps moving forward with ReeToxA’s astonishing additional steps toward their remarkable comeback narrative. McKee went through rather difficult periods, such as a prison sentence and the death of his mother. However, he did come back, launching ReeToxA, which served the purpose of providing him catharsis, with dreams of telling stories and showing his emotions unfiltered. His debut album Pines Salad which he released in March 2025 showcased some vulnerability but "Redneck Love" showcases even more boldness: a fierce and unapologetic fun side to his artistry.
